MA Architecture: Sustainability and Design, UEL

Having recently completed my studies in the Architecture Faculty of the Polytechnic School at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, I have been mostly interested in the field of urban design and specifically in that of sustainable urban design. During the last years of my studies I attended courses related to the sustainable development, sustainable urban design and urbanism and to the bioclimatic architectural design, and tried to expand my knowledge, attending conferences, intensive seminars organized by the university, national or international institutes, or even participating in various environmental events. Furthermore, my diploma project under the title: “Reclaiming the neighborhood_an environmental approach”, was about the regeneration of a neighborhood in a central area of Thessaloniki city, according to the principles of the environmental urban design, while my final thesis-dissertation, under the title: “Sustainable cities_Urban and Urbanism issues”, included an intense research about worldwide urban sustainability.

Sustainable urban design very early gained my great interest, since it is my firm belief that modern cities play a vital role in the contemporary environmental issues and climate crisis in our world.  Therefore, being a student at the MA Architecture: Sustainability and Design at UEL, will definitely widen my horizons and provide me with the best qualifications in order to face the future challenges in the most effective way.
